Welcome!

My name is Andrew Mocko and I am an engineering student at Santa Fe Community College. I would like to major in Aerospace Engineering and some day work for the Skunk projects for Lockheed Martin and the government.

Aerospace Engineering is definitely a career that fits into my lifestyle. I like doing math and science problems, and I am very interested in space ships, rockets, planes, and cars. I also like to be on top of the technology game, and I like to have a lot of technologically advanced things. The schooling that I need to get a Bachelor’s degree is very tough and time consuming, but I still have plenty of time to enjoy my college years.

Aerospace engineers are paid very well. Right out of college, one can make anywhere from $50,000 a year to about $75,000 a year, not bad for someone who makes about $10,000 a year right now. The benefits of a job like this are immense. First of all, there is great pay. And with that great pay I buy a nice house, nice cars, and afford to take nice vacations whenever I have time off.

Right now, I am a single man. I don’t plan on getting married for a few more years still, but eventually I would like to get married and have a couple of kids. I really want to have a house on the north shore of Hawaii, but that will take some years of saving. I first plan on getting a house in Los Angeles for a few years and then maybe move to Hawaii once I retire.

I do think that I will have no problem finding a job when I get my degree. There are plenty of them out there. The job market for aerospace engineers is pretty secure. As soon as people get over their fear of flying again, the business will boom again. Besides, I want to work for Lockheed Martin, they do special projects for the military, and they always want new planes and other things. I probably will not be able to start right out at the top as the project head, but eventually I will work my way up with no problems. As for the job itself, I know that I will enjoy it. I like everything about it. I come up with state of art ideas and concepts, test them out, and then make them work the proper application. I enjoy all of the work that comes with the title, so I know that I will enjoy my job for years and years.

All in all, I think that me becoming an Aerospace engineer is a great idea. It is going to take a lot of hard work and time now, but it will with out a doubt be worth it in the long run. I will have a great job that I like to do, I will be making real good money, and I hopefully will have a great family and lifestyle to go with it.
